The best of the Milan Design Week, alphabetically. Technology innovations most often offer a surprising twist to old designs. This year was no different. Among the most ingenious tech designs at Salone was the D-Table by Danilo Cascella, that featured an interactive design and a customisable multi-touch wireless table. The Luctra, a cordless and portable light by Flex, promises to be “biologically effective” as it controls the biorhythm in the absence of natural light. There was also Bang & Olufsen’s BeoSound Shape, a wall-mounted wireless speaker system that lets you define the size, shape, and even the sound performance of the colourful hexagons that work as speakers, amplifiers as well as acoustic dampers.
